Mieczyslaw (Mietek) Szczesniak is one of the finest Polish singers: he sings both pop and jazz; he is particularly devoted to soul. He is said to be "a white man with a black voice".
When he was 20, he decided to enter the seminary and for a certain period of time he abandoned all his musical aspirations, thinking that his vocation to the priesthood was incompatible with rock music.
